British Wheel of Yoga Congress – Day 3

For the final day of congress 2011, I was signed up for Lisa Petersen‘s workshop on ‘Being vs Doing’. Lisa is a student of Donna Farhi, a Yoga teacher I admire greatly and whose approach is quite different to other teachers I respect.

I was pleasantly surprised that I did not ache after the intense Eka Pada Rajapotanasana workshop the evening before. Nevertheless Lisa’s deeply gentle approach, combining Yoga with movement pattern theory was a beautifully tranquil way to end the weekend. I left the workshop with several new shoulder opening exercises to use and a feeling of blessedness that is still with me now.

I had just enough time to pop back to the market place and pick up a new mat and get some free Yogi tea samples before going for our final meal at the restaurant.

Car sharing (thanks Faith!) meant that the journey home flew past as five of us shared our experience and thoughts about the weekend.

I can’t wait until next year!

    Hi Catherine
Great to come across your blog about Congress as I didn’t go this year! Sounds like you had a very good 3 days with good choice of workshops. I was on a retreat over the same weekend, which I also greatly enjoyed!
